Jamie Anderson: 2014 Slopestyle World Snowboard Tour Champion – Great Congrats Jamie!
What’s not to love about Jamie Anderson? Great style, a determined attitude and she’s a winner. If there’s one undeniable fact about Jamie, it’s her ability to slay a contest. The 23 year-old from South Lake Tahoe, California competes since 2001 and is, as things stand today, the youngest women’s rider to be crowned a World Tour Champion. In other words: Jamie’s been on a 6 Star World Tour podium 19 times, 11 times on an X Games podium, she’s bagged 12 wins at 6 Star contests and another six X Games gold medals.
And not to forget, she just won the first ever Olympic Gold Medal in Women Slopestyle Snowboarding. Congrats Jamie!
So, what exactly makes Jamie such a successful snowboarder? Three words: Versatility, style, and raw talent. OK, that’s four words, but the point stands that only few can rival the bag of tricks and board manipulation abilities of Jamie Anderson. Her rail combos are buttery and complex, and taking the bigger slopestyle lines her spins are floaty and offer much more than your textbook 540. Her devotion to constantly out-perform her opponents and progress in order to win is how she’s been able to build such an impressive competitive career.
