Silje Norendal was basically raised with a snowboard strapped to her feet. She started snowboarding when she was 4 in her home resort Kongsberg and did her first contest in 1999 when she was 6. Some of her biggest inspirations were (and are) Kjersti Buaas and Jamie Anderson, and it was quickly apparent that this Norwegian would follow in the steps of girls like this.

With a riding style that’s bringing together a combination of progressive tricks and smooth style, Silje managed to get on some of the biggest podiums of the snowboarding world. To name few, she won her first X Games gold in Tignes in 2013. After this, she went for gold at both the Winter X Games Slopestyle competitions in Aspen in 2014 and 2015 – not bad at all!

Now, Silje is one of the leading lights in women’s snowboarding and, yes, she isn’t bad looking either.
